Frequently Asked Questions

How soon do I need to Review My Order? 

If a shipment shows any evidence of loss or damage sustained during shipping, please notify us before accepting it. Immediately upon your receipt of shipments, please inspect the material and notify Barium & Chemicals in writing of any claims for damages, shortages, defects, or deviations from material specifications, and hold the material while you await written instruction. In the event of errors in weight, deviation of quality from specifications, or loss or damage to material, claims against Barium are waived unless the buyer provides notice of these issues to us within 15 days after the arrival of the shipment. Barium’s liability for any damages shall in no event exceed the purchase price of the particular shipment with respect to which damages are claimed.

What are the Payment Terms?

Standard payment terms are net 30 days with approved credit. If you don’t have an open account with Barium and would like establish credit with our company, you may do so by completing a credit application. Payment can be made by EFT Transfer, ACH Transfer, company check, wire transfer and credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER). Unfortunately, we aren’t able to ship any orders COD or accept personal checks for payment.

How will My Order Be Shipped? 

Barium will always ship orders according to customers’ individual requests, when specified. When no criteria for shipping are provided, we will select the most cost effective method for shipping based upon the product, hazard class, packaging requirement and the date the product is required to be delivered to your door. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, we don’t ship to residential addresses.

Any possible freight charges, hazard fees, and special packaging fees will be added to your invoice as a separate line item. We partner with only reliable and reputable transportation companies with a proven track record for on time deliveries, but we cannot be held responsible for their performances. Notwithstanding any shipping terms included with this Sales Order Confirmation or any additional provisions agreed to by all parties, all risk of loss or damage to the material in transit is the responsibility of the buyer.

 

May I Return Material?  

Material may not be returned unless specifically agreed to by an authorized representative of Barium. Any returned material is subject to a thirty percent (30%) return and a restocking charge, unless otherwise agreed to in writing, and will be subject to any inspection period set forth. NOTE: Evaluation samples are not subject to the returns policy.

What if the Material is Delayed?

Barium is not liable for any delay of sale, delivery or shipment of material or for any damages suffered by the buyer due to delay, provided that such delay, directly or indirectly, arises from fires, floods, accidents, civil unrest, acts of God, war, governmental interference or embargoes, strikes, labor difficulties, shortage of labor, fuel, power, materials, or supplies, transportation delays, or any other causes beyond Barium’s control.

What is the FOB Point?

The Barium & Chemicals, Inc. FOB point is Steubenville, Ohio, unless otherwise noted.

Do you house material past the original ship date?

WAREHOUSING: Barium & Chemicals, Inc. offers the option to house material for our customers past the point of the agreed upon ship date. If you choose our warehousing option, we will provide a warehousing fee of $5,000 up to 7 days past the agreed upon ship date. Additional charges will be applied for every day the shipment remains within our warehousing holding facility past the 7 days. Please contact bcisales@bariumchemicals.com with any questions.
